    Responsibilities

    CAREER OPPORTUNITY (2nd and 3rd shift positions ONLY)

     

    Responsible for obtaining transportation permits for over-weight and over-sized equipment while meeting 1-hour customer promise for deployment of work crews in response to calls for emergency services.  Responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of data related to labor, materials, and equipment for jobs/services in order that customer billing is timely and inclusive of all labor/materials/equipment.

     

    HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT 

    • Responsible for obtaining transportation permits for over-weight and over-sized vehicles/equipment within 1 hour in response to both calls for emergency services and for performance of contracted work. Collaborates with Cranemasters personnel to identify and select most efficient routes minimizing detours and ensuring that travel is not impeded by way of construction activities, weight restrictions, etc.
    • Performs administrative tasks in accordance with standard procedures including set-up of work orders and job files. Maintains job log and updates with information documenting work progress, materials used, equipment/vehicles, etc.
    • Utilizes Excel, SharePoint, and Vista (or other software) to capture/enter data related to labor, materials, equipment, travel time, over-night accommodations, etc. in support of billing customers for services.
    • Answer and route phone calls for company switch board.
    • Relays information between all parties (Customers, Cranemasters team members, emergency response agencies, etc.) and seeks opportunities to facilitate work accomplishment in the field.
    • Responsible for updating daily schedule to include employee and equipment assignments.
    • Participates in weekend and holiday duty rotations. On-call as directed in order to meet 24/7 emergency response and operational needs of the company.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED 

    • Previous work experience in logistics/dispatching/transportation/heavy construction operations/business desired. High School Diploma or GED supplemented by training/education that would be the equivalent of an associate degree.
    • Must have knowledge/skill/ability to read maps, ensure proper routing, and obtain permits for over-weight or over-sized equipment/trucks. Strong and proactive communication skills.  Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Must have proficient administrative, customer service, and typing skills.
    • Must be a team player with the ability to work with others to meet goals and objectives.
    • Call Center experience is a plus.
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
    • Must pass qualification tests as required (includes: basic computer tests, excel, typing, ERail safe and other training/safety programs).
    • Must meet 24/7 availability to respond to emergency calls for service including weekends and holidays. May be required to fill-in for team members on nights, weekends and/or holidays.
    • Preference for knowledge of D.O.T., FMCSA, and FRA regulations.
    • Must project positive and professional image to customers, co-workers, work crews, and public.

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

    • Ability to answer phones to assist customers, answer questions, dispatch crews and communicate information with direct impact on operations and emergency response situations.
    • Working extended hours.
    • Ability to perform tasks and multi-task under stressful conditions.
    • Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, standing, and / or walking.
    • Walking / carrying / lifting items associated with normal office work (not to exceed 20 lbs.)

     

    NOTE:  Cranemasters is a 24/7 emergency service provider to the railroad industry and as such, our employees are subject to work outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
